WVMFT has learned that some associate faculty have not been paid for their time taking DE Training.
The District and the union negotiated additional paid flex (APF) hours for associate faculty with Fall 2020 assignments.
Associate faculty with Fall 2020 assignments are entitled to pay for up to 12 hours at $50/hour. These 12 hours include the three hours that the District is already obligated to pay to associates who attend three hours of flex day activities. All time spent participating in DE Training can be applied to these 12 hours.
WVMFT was told by the District that the Offices of Instruction would be tracking all of these DE Training hours and payment would be automatic. Unfortunately that has turned out to not be the case. WVMFT is suggesting that all associates with Fall assignments do the following:
- First, check your Sept and Oct paystubs in your portal to see how many flex hours you've already been paid for. These hours will likely be listed as a "stipend".
- If the total number of hours is less than 12 and you've spent 12 or more hours performing flex activities and DE Training, then you are due a payment.
How to get paid?
- Get evidence that you completed your DE Training (i.e. a transcript from the VRC, a transcript, or a "Certificate of Completion").
- Next submit this evidence to the Office of Instruction along with a Faculty Stipend Invoice Form. That form is attached here.
If you are having difficulties with this process or you have any questions, please respond to this email.
